Kayla Ross
Director, Principal Teacher and Showgroup Coordinator.

Kayla is a former student of Monaro Dance Centre, completing training in Tap and Jazz dance under the teaching abilities of Helen Linkenbagh.

Kayla took over the director role of Monaro Dance Centre at the beginning of 2006. Also in 2006, she obtained her teaching certificate with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Kayla is trained in RAD Classical Ballet and is also the studio's qualified teacher of the Glenn Wood method of Tap dance.
She has also Choreographed Monaro High School and Cessnock High School past Rock Eisteddfod's.

In 2005 she created a theatre piece called
"The Ladder" which she directed & produced together with Miss Robyn Wall drawing huge crowds and impressive reviews.




 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jenny Colin
Jindabyne.


Jenny has a wealth of experience in Performing Arts. Studying RAD ballet, Tap and Jazz with the renowned Ransely's in Sydney she completed her formal ballet training while also competing in many eisteddfods and appearing in Westfield holiday productions.

After leaving school she received a full two year scholarship to the Sydney Performing Arts centre under the direction of Ross Coleman. Continuing her classical training with Tania Pearson and Jazz/Hip Hop with Kelley Abbey. She earned the title of "Triple Threat", being one who can sing, dance and act. While studying she appeared in Australian Television shows (AFI awards) and commercials, cabaret work at some of Sydney's and Melbourne's top venues, pantomimes and stage productions.
Her dancing took her to Japan and London and more recently France where she taught and choreographed for the Burgundy Arts festival and was a lead in the French musical, Heureux Qui Comme Edouard.

Jenny has been involved with teaching and choreography for many years. While in Sydney she operated her own dance school as well as teaching at a number of well established dance and high schools including Johnny Young Talent School, Lynda Keanes, Kambala of Rose Bay and Scots College.

After moving to Jindabyne, Jenny was employed by Monaro Dance for several years and was the drama and dance teacher at SMGS. She choreographed the first Wakakirri at Jindabyne Public School and has always been involved with end of year productions. Jenny is also a qualified Gymnastics coach.

Jenny has returned from 3 years away and is as enthusiastic as ever to teach her art in the Monaro region.



Holly Menchin
Cooma & Jindabyne.

Holly began dancing in 1991 with the Deborah Rose School of Dance.

She c
ontinued dancing with Helen Linkenbagh when Deb Rose became Monaro Dance Centre in 1994
where she studied Ballet, Character, Tap, Jazz and was a member of Showgroup until 2000 performing in many community events and was successful at Eisteddfod and
competition level, both in troupe and solo work.

From 2001 - 2004 she completed a Dance, Theatre Studies and Education Degree at the
University of NSW in Sydney. Here she studied a variety of styles under the following
teachers and choreographers: David Spurgeon (Afro-Carribean, Composition and Dance
History), Bill Pengelly (ex Sydney Dance Company) and Jo Grace (Ballet), Patrick
Harding-Irmer(Graham technique, ex London Contemporary Dance Theatre and many
Australian companies), Sue-Ellen Chester (Jazz) and Rebecca Greg, Sue Healey and
Dean Welsh (Contemporary).

From 2005 - 2006 she was the sole Dance and Drama teacher at MacKillop Catholic College
(Primary and Secondary) on the Central Coast. Holly contributed in developing a strong
dance ethos in the school and had several extra-curricula dance groups which performed at community events and Eisteddfods on the Central Coast and Sydney with
great results.

From 2007 - 2008 she completed the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies at the Royal Academy of Dance in London and was the UK student representative. While in London she completed classes at the RAD, open classes at Pineapple Dance studios and Danceattic
in a range of styles. She also taught at two Performing Arts High Schools and was activitely involved in developing the arts in both schools. She also taught Ballet at the Frances Lundy School of Dance.


Holly has recently returned after travelling and is teaching at Monaro High School.

She says she is looking forward to working and living on the Monaro again and can't wait to be
invloved with dance in the area.
